This medication is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It increases blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, which helps men achieve and maintain an erection. Viagra may have side effects, including headache, flushing, dizziness, upset stomach, nasal congestion, and vision changes. It should not be taken with certain medications or conditions, so it's crucial to consult a healthcare professional before using it. Individuals with a history of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart problems (angina, heart failure, irregular heartbeats) or recent heart attack, should exercise caution when using Viagra. The sexual activity itself can strain the heart and can further increase the strain by increasing blood flow. Consult with a healthcare professional to assess the risks and benefits in such cases. What is Erectile Dysfunction? Viagra is a medication used to help men achieve and maintain an erection. It works by relaxing muscles found in men, allowing them to have more sexual contact. It is a PDE5 inhibitor, meaning it increases the flow of blood to the penis and helps achieve and maintain an erection when sexually aroused. However, often the underlying cause of ED is not adequately explained. It belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors, which work by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation to help a man achieve and maintain an erection. By decreasing the amount of drug in the circulation, this medication can help a person achieve and maintain an erection long- term. Consult with a healthcare professional to assess the potential benefits and potential risks in such cases. While Viagra is primarily used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED), it can also be used for purposes different from sexual health. For men with erectile dysfunction, this medication can help with symptoms such as difficulty in getting an erection, swelling of the penis, or difficulty hold sexually excited or passionate semen.
